I have begun to question the notion of authorship, and whether there is an coherent element or aspect that could be consider Phantom, a third hand or collaborative identity, not known or authored by any one. An identity arising from the integration of many creative ideas, or elements which form a new idea, unknown or evidently unrecognisable. Brand new, owned by no one, in spite of the process of gathering information, ideas, and daily practice to create a new work. What is the ‘Phantom’ and how do we recognise it?

Art theorist Charles Green elaborates on the notion of 'Phantom' within collaboration. My first stage of research will be towards understanding theoretical and philosophical components of creating a collaborative work.
